It was our pleasure to host the International Action Art Exhibition at kanvas from 2 to 5 April 2023 in collaboration with the Club for UNESCO of Piraeus and Islands and the organization of International Action Art. This charity initiative brought together 158 established artists from around the world who participated with nearly 200 artworks, exhibited digitally for the first time. The presentation with video projectors allowed the audience to view the paintings in much more detail and made the exhibition not only unique but also sustainable.
The exhibition aimed to foster intercultural dialogue and cooperation according to the principles and ideals of UNESCO, to spread the message of voluntarism, participation and contribution and to raise awareness through art. All original artworks will be donated to social institutions in Greece such as hospitals, schools and dormitories to fill them with color and hope.
A special section was dedicated to Daniel Labrosse, a member of the kanvas artists community, whose current exhibition “Metropolis – A Utopian City” is on display at kanvas until 29 April. His artworks are also focused on the social aspect and values of our communities.
The closing ceremony took place on 5 April with the participation of the President of the Club for UNESCO of Piraeus and Islands, and CEO & General President of International Action Art, Mr. Ioannis Maronitis, the official delegation from Greece, the President of International Action Art Bahrain Department Mr. Butch J. Paje, the entire kanvas team, as well as artists, curators and other distinguished guests.
