Boulevart – the boulevard of new media art in Dubai

From 23 to 26 February 2023, kanvas participated in ‘Boulevart’, the Immersive Experience, Digital & Video Art, WEB3 & NFT Exhibition in the heart of Downtown Dubai. The three-day event, which aimed to celebrate Dubai’s position as a hub for the global Web3 community, was organized and hosted by Art in Space Gallery in collaboration with neighbouring Foundry and Kalimat galleries. The exhibition was curated by Azerbaijani new media artist Orkhan Mammadov, who is also a prominent member of kanvas’ artistic community and who presented his highly successful immersive interactive exhibition titled “Revival of Aesthetics 2.0” at kanvas from 28 January to 26 February 2023.

kanvas was proud to represent two members of its artist community, Daniel Labrosse and András Nagy among the more than 30 participating galleries and 115 artists from all over the world. Besides showcasing their artworks on special LCD screens and in a 360-degree immersive room, the artists also took part in discussion panels and information sessions.

Daniel Labrosse showcased his animated project “Metropolis” which portrays communities connected through collaboration, fuelled by optimism and empathy, inspired by nature, innovating and creating the world of tomorrow. Neighbourhoods that work together to fix the mistakes of the past, solve the problems of today and prevent the issues of the future.

András Nagy displayed his abstract artwork “Silence of Motion” which takes the viewer to a stony coast, with sharp edges and geometric shapes that are gradually rounded by the ebb and flow of the water. Each wave creates a unique interpretation that invites the viewer to a meditative experience.

The minted artworks are listed and available for purchase on the Art in Space Gallery Marketplace. The videos of the artworks will remain on display at Art in Space Gallery’s dedicated LCD screens for a period of 3 months after the exhibition.
