The Brief

Bringing immersive digital art into the public realm

kanvas has been invited to participate in the 20th edition of DIFC Art Nights, one of Dubai’s most established cultural events, and to expand immersive digital art into the wider public environment of DIFC Gate Village.

The Concept

Turning a cultural district into an immersive art environment

We transformed Gate Village into a dynamic space where digital art could be experienced outside traditional galleries. The concept combined immersive digital exhibitions, live cultural programmin and interactive workshops. Visitors were invited to experience digital art both as spectators and active participants, reinforcing the festival’s open cultural spirit.

The Experience

Immersive art, dialogue, and creative participation

Activation 1 — FADA’ Immersive Digital Art Space (in collaboration with Elevision)

  • Hosted inside Elevision’s FADA’ structure, a pop-up immersive environment featuried large U-shaped LED screen walls and presented curated digital artworks from the kanvas Artist Collective, including: Kristel Bechara, Rank SSS, Kati Katona, András Nagy, Tim Christie
  • The immersive installation became a central focal point of the festival, attracting large audiences throughout the four-day event.
  • The space also hosted live programming, including panel discussions, cultural talks and live music performances.
  • The fusion of immersive visuals and live programming transformed the space into a vibrant cultural hub.

Activation 2: ‘Art in Light’ Interacive Workshop

  • A hands-on creative workshop designed for participants of all ages.
  • Visitors explored colour, shape, and movement through light-based creative tools (overhead projectors)
  • The experience offered a playful introduction analog creative and art techniques.

The Impact

  • Over four evenings, the kanvas activations helped transform DIFC Gate Village into an open platform for contemporary digital art.
  • The FADA’ immersive installation became one of the most visited and photographed spaces of the festival.
  • The Art in Light workshop encouraged audiences to engage directly with the creative process.
  • The project reinforced kanvas’ mission to make digital art accessible, participatory, and culturally engaging.
